Sandtroopers are Imperial stormtroopers with specialized gear dispatched to desert worlds, where they used native dewbacks as mounts. Most famously deployed on Tatooine during the search for the stolen Death Star plans, sandtroopers are among the most recognizable Imperial variants from the original trilogy. The squad leader is distinguished by a rank pauldron. This figure is based on the sandtrooper as seen in Star Wars: A New Hope.
